In this series of captivating talks, Chris explores legendary riders and pivotal moments from the sport’s rich history.  The latest focus is Jacques Anquetil, the first five-time Tour de France champion and a man of many contradictions. Based on the new book, Cycling Legends 03: Jacques Anquetil - The Man Behind the Mask, these talks offer a rare glimpse behind the public persona to reveal the real Anquetil—a man who made his own rules, lived by his own standards, and remains one of the sport’s most intriguing figures.

This talk will take place at Giant Paddock Wood, 62a Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, Tonbridge, TN12 6AF

The talk will commence at 7.30pm, with doors opening at 6.45pm. 

Any books purchased can be collected at the talk.

All tickets include a free welcome drink on arrival of either a beer, glass of wine or soft drink.

Chris Sidwells is a freelance journalist, author and historian with well over two decades experience working in cycling, and a lifetime involvement with the sport. He’s written thousands of articles for newspapers, magazines and websites all over the world, as well as 27 books on every aspect of cycling; many of which best selling in their genre. He's also the nephew of the British cycling icon Tom Simpson.
