Sam Jackson of Cycling Legends Media ski touring in Chamonix, France

Medic, Nephew and Business partner

Sam Jackson grew up around cycling, hearing the tales of its past told by Chris over family dinners and weeks where in the summer he stayed with his Aunt and Uncle. It was them who bought him his first road bike - a red Massi Master.

He had a promising sporting career in triathlon curtailed by injury, but remains very active - running, on his bike, or skiing and kitesurfing.

He will be leading on the operations element of Cycling Legends Media - helping to grow the brand. Now also working as a registrar in Acute Medicine and Cardiology, Sam is no stranger to a challenge - recently running the 128 mile length of the Liverpool to Leeds Canal in under 24 hours to raise money for charity.

Gary Fairley - producers of the Cycling Legends Podcast - riding a road bike.

Podcast Host, Producer and Referee

Once described - mistakenly - by Miranda Sawyer in the Observer as a “born-again, mid-life cyclist, not obsessive”, Gary Fairley is a mountain biker who turned to the Dark Side and never quite returned.

Gary has been talking about bike racing off-and-on for over 15 years, co-hosting the popular Velo Club Don Logan podcast between 2010 and 2014 and then joining the Cycling Legends team in 2022.

As well as being our in-house podcast producer, he also has the enviable task of refereeing our fortnightly Feed Zone podcast.

David Stanley from Flint Michigan - co-host of the Cycling Legends Podcast

Authour, Cyclist, dad, podcaster, and Poet

David Stanley, a native of Flint, Michigan, spent the 1970s tearing up the streets on his Sears Free Spirit. When he first swung a leg over a rented track bike in 1979 at the portable velodrome inside Michigan State University’s Demonstration Hall, he had no idea where that moment would lead.

He certainly never imagined becoming part of theCycling Legends family. Since publishing his first cycling article in 1986, David has seen far more of his freelance work in print than he ever saw race wins—though he’d probably say the writing victories have meant more. Maybe. Maybe not.

He writes regularly for Bike Race Info.com. His substack is Dstanley.substack.com. His YouTube is https://www.youtube.com/@SonnetVision
