Fantastic book! Cycling history brought to life.

This is a beautiful book, and fascinating from the first to the last page. Pictures I’d never seen, and amazing interviews from those who were there. Jacques was the first to win the Tour five times - this is a perfect introduction to one of the all time greatest riders!

Incredibly great book.

Hello
First time writing review here but feel it's so well merited! I pre ordered the book on Jacques Anquetil without hesitation as the other books in the series are such excellent works.
The book arrived by tracked post in extremely safe secure packaging and exactly around the advised calendar time. Couldn't be happier.
Basically spent the rest of the day engrossed in "The man behind the mask" with volumes of amazing pictures and lovely format/font on writing.
Having already read books on Jacques over the years the research and depth of information in this book is very refreshing. Inclusive of so many other great riders , events and all an integral part if Jacques story, the highs the lows and truly getting behind the mask of this intriguing champion.
An excellent book to have in a collection, I've never met the author but first came across his writing years ago with the 2005 book on Allan Peiper they wrote together, an excellent work that still gets dipped into.
Unashamedly a fan of all his works and weekly short stories etc on Facebook and Cycling Legends website, how fortunate we are to have this instant access when a moment permits.
All in all a fabulous book to add to the fabulous series of books.
Many thanks
John.
