A fabulous book; it captures the atmosphere of professional cycling over three eras. Hoban rode with Anquetil, Merckx and Hinault, sometimes wining, often placed, always giving his all. The book captures the hardship and the joy of professional racing, and Barry, bringing the other characters to life as he tells his story, is always authentic and straight talking. He was held in high esteem asa racer my generations in the Uk and Europe; reading this book, you can see why. An all round top read from an all round top guy and Yorkshire gentleman.
